Someshwara temple is situated on the banks of arabian sea at a distance of 13km from the Mangalore city.
History says that this temple was built in 10th century AD and was renovated in 15th century AD by Vijayanagara King.
This temple is known for performing Pitrakaryas , that is last rituals for departed souls.
The beach near to the temple is known for large rocks and this rocks are called Rudra shile. The beach has claimed lives of number of peoples every year because of the presence of hidden rocks along the coast which makes the beach unsuitable for swimming.

How to reach
Mangalore is the nearest airport.
Mangalore and Thokkotu is the nearest railway station. Thokkotu is the nearest bus stop.
